It's great, but out of curiosity I was looking again on Organic Maps to see how they developed, and I was surprised to see that they added some very useful hiking, cycling and public transportation layers (trams, busses included), while Comaps seems to be more car centered (electrical charging places, car roads more prominent on the map). If to be more car centered is an assumed direction from Comaps, despite liking their ethics more, I would have to move back to OM. But I hope I'm wrong.

Thank you for the 5 star rating. I can assure you we are not aiming to be more car centered. In fact we are currently developing a better hiking layer and working on integration of public transport. You can checkout the public transport project page on our Codeberg repository. You are always welcome to contact us for further elaboration or concerns

In theory the app is great. But after I've recorded a route that I want saved for next time, it just gives me something I didn't want. Or more so it follows the given route to like 80% and for the rest of the way it does whatever it wants. If I recorded a route I want to drive it the same way I recorded it and it doesn't seem to respect that at all. It's also really difficult to just get the thing to start the route. I just want a start button for the saved routes instead of the route to.

Thank you for the feedback. Could you please contact us at support@comaps.app with more details so we can look into this. We are aware that navigating previously saved routes is currently not ideal. We are working to fully support that feature and make it easier to use.

Possibly one of the best options out there. The "landmarks" (retail space mostly) are far less intrusive than other in other maps. There is also a setting that helps more important information be prioritized over them. Location names appear to load before the pins. It is definitely leagues better than most modern offerings. It's worth checking out. I wish the devs luck keeping ads at bay. Free is expensive.

That is strange... CoMaps never had ads and will not introduce ads. Either you are referring to another app or your device might be affected by some adware. Please double-check and update the rating accordingly. Otherwise please reach out with screenshots if you need help: support@comaps.app
