How can you buy your tickets even faster and get updates on your journey on top of that? You get it with the ÖBB App, round the clock, wherever you are. Take the train and take it easy.
The ÖBB App comes with the following features:
• Tickets for trains, buses, the metro and trams: book your ÖBB tickets & get exclusive online specials such as the Sparschiene Österreich discount fares. You can also book the city tickets and weekly or monthly tickets of Austrian regional transport operators
• Pay your fares on the go with SimplyGo! The handy add-on for the ÖBB App automatically identifies the routes you travelled and calculates the matching public transport fare for your complete journey
• Secure your favourite seat on the Railjet: use the graphic seat reservation
• Find the best fare: see the ÖBB train services sorted by lowest fare first
• ÖBB Account: conveniently and securely store your personal data and means of payment, save your favourite routes, and receive additional exclusive offers (e.g. the Vorteilscard 66 discount card)

The main problem with the app is payments issues and cart management. * The critical bug: I've bought a ticket, was charged 122.1€, but received no tickets, no confirmations. I hope they will answer and provide my ticket. But the fact that this situation was possible is really scary. * Cart management is awful, it is unsynchronized between a browser and the app, it freezes, it could lock items in nowhere if you log out. I suspect they do a lot of work on clients side, not on backend.

No favourite/recently-searched stations, have to type station names from scratch every time even though I just searched for it a minute ago... some routes get randomly saved, but that's still not helpful, as it is recent or favourited STATION NAMES themselves that need to appear in the station list first. And one in three searches will return you to the home screen, having to start all over again. A real struggle this app, and a real embarrassment to this otherwise decent train company!

it displayed the wrong time of departure and the wrong platform. So i had to run to get the train, because it would only stop for few minutes and the next one would arrive in one hour. I also bought a ticket only from this app and wanted to cancel it after few seconds (which should work, due to the information displayed on the app) and i was unable. there was an error while processing the cancellation of the ticket.
