About this app

Live weather radar, nowcast and rain alerts, hyperlocal forecast and hurricane tracker. See, understand, and act on rain before it changes your plans.

Tracking a hurricane, watching a storm build, or checking if it's dry enough for a walk? RainViewer shows the actual rain on the weather radar map, in seconds, direct from the radar source. 10 million downloads across iOS and Android rely on RainViewer for live rain radar.

Radar wins the map screen. Built with Material 3: fewer buttons, more radar. A layer indicator always shows which layer you see: Radar, Satellite, Forecast, Temperature, Rainfall Totals, or Radar + Satellite. The timeline marks every radar frame. Fullscreen mode clears the interface for a clean screenshot or screencast. Tablets and foldables get a proper landscape layout.

The radar map you actually use

  • Tap the map for rain intensity, cloud top temperature, the full alert advisory, and when that spot was last scanned

  • Live indicator shows when you see the latest scan. New radar frames every 2 minutes on Essential and Pro

  • Native radar resolution, no blur at any zoom. Explore individual radar stations with Pro Radar

Had high hopes but it's an absolute NO! I suggest you consider something else. The reason I got this app and paid for the pro version was to have notifications of upcoming rain. over the last 3 days I've seen 7-10 notifications saying rain is coming, and never did, not even once. The live radar shown enormous clouds and storms co.onh directly over my neighborhood, only to not see a drop of rain. I just don't get how it can be this inaccurate, but it is.

Not accurate. It was raining but the app showed rain was still coming in an hour. Then after two minutes, the app showed that no rain was coming at all. In some cases, it shows it's raining hard somewhere near, then the whole rain graphic just disappears in minutes when I hit the play button for the forecast. Really needed a good rain forecast app. I guess non exist yet.

Sorry to hear the forecast was not accurate for your area. Next time you notice an inaccuracy, could you please send us your location, a description of what you see, and screenshots? You can do this via App Settings > Send Feedback > Send Email. Fresh data helps us investigate possible issues for a specific location right away and improve accuracy

I thought that this app would present precipitation in a clear and uncomplicated manner. The first hurdle to me was disgusting-- pushing, pushing, pushing to go "Pro"-- and all for what, just to make things more cluttered and complicated? Sorry that I won't be around to play this ridiculous game!

Sorry to hear this wasn't the experience you wanted. Core weather and radar features stay free without Pro. We hear your feedback on the upsell prompts and will pass it along to our team. Thank you
